Title: Skavenryth Maze
Description: Season II
Morkskittar - November 15, 2006 09:29 PM (GMT)
SKAVENRYTH MAZE
Season II
And the maze began with the shot of a very expensive Warp-Lightning cannon, which, of course, can never be used again now that it is scattered all over the arena...
"This event certainly is crowded today, both in spectators and participants. Over two hundred participants are in the maze today, and... wait, my aide here tells me over THREE HUNDRED! A record-breaking number. Thousands of audiencerats have also gathered to watch the maze from above.
"After the cannon went off, the contetstants immediately sped off down different tunnels in the maze, except for a few of the clever ones, most noticeable Haggensqueek and Skreechit, simply ran forward, then turned and slaughtered several beast before they could escape.
"Bets are so far in the air, with few willing to pledge money so early... bets close after day three, but the serious gamblers will watch for all the time they can get before putting tokens down. Skreechit and Haggensqueek currently have the highest stakes on them, and a few of the richer rats have bet on the current underdog, an anonymous entrant. His beast has not been seen yet, and the Moulder did not enter the maze itself with his beast.
"We do see some favorites returning... including some of last years's participants, in addition to well-known beasts such as Vilepaw's infamous Clawcrab (who seems to be having difficulty with finding prey), and the more newly-made star, Badlander Friar Divik's "Kirby," officially dubbed "the Flying Squig." The infamous Doctor Ghallden has also deigned to make his presence known here, with what appears to be a walking skeleton. Here we also see Neek with one of his deadly robotic chickens, a smaller one than last time, but still appearing deadly, having already slain twelve foes, putting him in third overall.
"Underempire Grand Tournament finalists Skreechit and Haggensqueek have also showed up, with interesting beasts. Soshka is a rat Ogre with three heads, each with two sawed tongues. Gorwol, by contrast, is a snaky giant rat with a vicious bite.
"The last thing to note is the return of a Moulder long thought lost to the pits... Moulder Monthly manager Favrik has entered with a newly-made beast known as "Favorrisimo," (very favored).
"Only thirteen more days! May the Best Rats Win!"
The current scores for many of the more important Moulders are listed below:

"And Day 2 begins brightly, with the loss of one of the most favoured Moulders in the maze. After a short nap, Skreechit and his beast, Gorwol, were feasting on the flesh of an opponent when Haggensqueek burst out of a hidden corridor and ambushed the two. Soshka' sawed tongues easily cut Skreechit's beast in half, and Skreechit, valuing his life, fled at a speed never before seen in the history of the maze.
"We have also seen the loss of several of our anonymous entrants today, and many beasts have been wounded. the elf Drachau and his apprentice Nikkit have both been wounded by the acidic blood of other beasts, and Doctor Schleinendorf himself suffered wounds when his own beast's acidic blood burst through its walls. Schleinendorf does not currently look to be in a favorable position, with his beast barely staying alive as acid pours out of it.
"There seems to have also been a vast change in order here, with one anonymous entrant snaking his way to third place. Nikkit and Drachau are also now both on Haggensqueek's heels, while Neek has dropped a bit. Miraculously, Scumthorpe's beast Glitch seems to remain standing, its powerful warp-lightning cannon not yet exploded. In addition, Vilepaw's infamous Clawcrab seem to be performing better, having made a monstrous ten kills.
"Stay tuned for more!"

"Day 3 is relatively uneventful, as it usually is. This is the day during which the Moulders are the most spread out, resulting in the fewest encounters. About 100 contestants remain in the maze, and tomorrow that number is expected to be halved (or more), as entrants begin to move towards eachother. Haggensqueek retains his lead, while Divik and an Anonymous Entrant step up to second. Baron Samedi seems to be able to exude a dark purple smoke which blinds those who walk into it, and Glitch suffered some wounds from a misfiring Warp-Lightning Cannon. Nothing else of interest has occured."

"And the Maze enters Day 4. The first thing one notices is the lost of three of the more followed Moulders. The Fool of Skavenblight had his beast just drop dead randomly as he walked down a corridor in the maze, and Gytlat's beast was quickly and brutally slain by Haggensqueek. However, Gytlat did not flee in vain, as Darkheart managed to wound Soshka. Lastly, Doctor Schleinendorf's beast was mortally wounded by a Minor Moulder and died slowly and bloodily in the tunnel, despite the doctor's best efforts.
"It also seems to be the day of the underdogs. Many of the higher-ranking Moulders have suffered wounds, while most of the lower ones remained unscathed. Even Clawcrab was wounded by a beast that spat acidic blood at the silent form before fleeing. Overall, though, this eems to be a relatively slow day, with not nearly the amount of kills predicted yesterday. Experts have just remodified their predicitions and estimate that the real killing begins tomorrow. But for now, we'll have to wait and see..."

Day 5
Day Five sees some change, with Drachau and Nikkit shooting up in the rankings, as well as Vilepaw's Packmaster and Clawcrab. This round, though, most of the action was among the 'lesser' Moulders. They have almost completely wiped eachother out. Less than 30 Moulders currently survive in the maze! The heat is on!

Day 6
Day 6 proves to be the final weeding day. The only Moulders left standing are those listed below. It is usually at this time that every Moulder goes to the center to try and end the tournament with themselves on top. As such, it is expected that the next few days will see some very intense fighting.

Day 7
As expected, many Moulders are moving towards the center of the maze in a last desperate attempt to boost kill-count. Several Moulders have been killed already, but the real slaughter should begin tomorrow. Favrik was finally taken out by Nikkit and Chit-Shiz, but not beforee Favorrisimo managed to injure Nikkit's beast, who now hangs by a thread.
Perhaps even more astonishing is the death of Soshka, Haggensqueek's beast. Blipquick and Vizzerdrix surprised the pair, and Blipquick's pirahna bunny landed several lucky blows, each one taking off a limb - or a neck. Suffice to say, Haggensqueek isn't pleased.
Kill-Kill also managed to take out the weedy Larishal easily, without suffering fruther damage. Pesticide is still unhamred, which makes him a very tempting target. Doctor Ghallden may have to move Baron Samedi from his place, as well, due to the fact that the opposing beasts are all moving away from his location. The last major kill was between two of the Anonymous Entrants, in which Entrant 2 killed Entrant 1.
the whereabouts of the beast of Entrant 5 is unknown, but judges are not sure it is dead yet, and are still searching the tunnels.
Stay Tuned!

Day 8
And the slaughter begins. Kill-Kill and Pesticide performed admirably, taking down two opponents on this day. He managed to surprise both Nikkit and his master, and Pesticide's Ratling Gun easily took care of them without misfiring. Keaton encountered Vilepaw's Packmaster and his hideous beast, Clawcrab, and even with Robed Horror's amazing abilities of sight, Clawcrab managed to dispatch the beast.
Blipquick and Sscumthorpe also had an interesting encounter. The two surprised eachother around a bend, and Glitch quickly fired his Warp-Lightning Cannon. It seems that Glitch's luck had run out, however, as the cannon prceeded to explode in a spectacular fashion, effectively killing/removing from the maze Glitch. Blipquick proceeded to make fun of Scumthorpe before running off back the way they had come.
The last encounter of this day was between Divik and one of the anonymous entrants. The anonymous one surprised Divik and Kirby, and his hideous snake-like creature charged forward Kirby valiantly tried to swallow the massive beast, but failed miserable, and was instead batted aside into the wall by the anonymous entry and his beast. Divik, angered, charged forward, but his opponent hopped onto the back of his beast and was gone, easily outrunning the poor Friar. Kirby was determined to be alive, but not fit to participate.
As the day drew to a close, the unthinkable happened. Near the center of the maze, an explosion went off, sending bits of rock and hot flame all over. Most of the Moulders were not in the area of the explosion, but Neek, Doctor Ghallden, and Clawcrab were all hit, Clawcrab the worst of all. Authorities have already determined the saboteur to be Ikkilit, and are scouring the city yet again, searching for the heretic.
With both of the former first placed rats out, who will win? Can Clawcrab stay alive long enough and kill enough to claim the prize? We will find out.

Day 9
Day 9 proved eventful in the aftermath of the explosion. Doctor Ghallden and Baron Samedi moved through the maze, where they encountered Vilepaw's apprentice and Clawcrab. The two beast began fighting, but the combat moved out of sight. Minutes later, Baron Samedi and the Doctor moved back into sight. As spectators followed him, they would (hopefully) notice that the two were suddenly ambushed by Blipquick and Vizzerdrix. The vicious Pirahna-Bunny ripped apart the bone skeleton of Baron Samedi and left quickly, forcing Ghallden out of the maze.
Clawcrab re-emerged, as well, but seemed to look better tan he had before. He and Vilepaw's apprentice began moving through the maze, hungry for blood.
In addition, Kill-Kill and Pesticide met an unfortunate fate. They had stumbled across Anonymous Entrant Number Five's beast. The small rat blinded Pesticide beore vanishing into thin air. As such, the beast wasn't prepared for the suddden appearence of Anonymous entrant number two, and Pesticide was cut up by the cloaked figure's Kroigor-snakebeast.

Day 10
Day ten Sees the loss of the two Moulders currently in the lead. Vilepaw's Apprentice and Clawcrab encountered the anonymous entrant (number two) with his beast. Clawcrab managed to surprise the two, and made short work of the Kroxigor. The mysterious figure, enraged, pointed at Clawcrab with one finger. Countless bolts of lightning leapt from it and struck the beast on the ceiling. Clawcrab made a strangled noise and fell from the ceiling, landing on the ground with a thud. The stranger then gestured, and he and his beast vanished.
Not long after, having heard the lightning, Neek and his Little Chicken turned the corridor and reached the fallen Clawcrab, who was weakly getting to his foot-like things. the Chicken squacked and charged forward, its mechanical implants whirring. It collided with Clawcrab, and its vicious talons tore gaping chunks of flesh from the beast's chest. Clawcrab collapsed, and neek and his beast fled from the wrath of the Packmaster.
Only Neek, Blipquick, and the mysterious Anonymous entrant remain! Who will win?

Day 12
Neek and his beast paused in one of the central tunnels, and the Master Moulder fiddles with something on his beat's mechanical body, and suddenly the Little Chicken looked rejuvenated and roared a challenge.
Blipquick and Vizzerdrix heard the roar, and went off searching for it. As the walked, they heard a squeak in front of them. Vizzerdrix looked down...
...and found himself with an eyeful of ink. Blipquick roared at Vizzerdrix to follow the fleeing scuttling sound, but the beast was too bust clawing at its eyes. Blipquick began screaming angrily and whipping his beast, when suddenly Neek and Little Chicken turned the corner.
Neek grinned. Blipquick groaned. But by the time they met, it was the end of Day 12. The epic battle will take place on the last day.... tomorrow. whoever survives tomorrow will have many winnings....

DAY THIRTEEN
The two grinned savagely at one another and charged forward. Vizzerdrix knew better than to meet the chicken's eyes, and so ducked his head and slashed out with is claws. A started cluck came from the robotic chicken, and Vizzerdrix bit and slashed at it. It shrieked and began flying away. Blipquick's beast dropped the bird and watched it fly off. Neek glared at Blipquick and stalked off.
They found the chicken at the end of the day, sleeping peacefully.
