Title: Marienburg Swampfest

Morkskittar - October 15, 2006 01:37 PM (GMT)
Packlord Mirak vs. Gorhakal
The match began as usual, and immidiately after the pistol's shot, Mirak's beast shrieked horribly. Gorhakal's beast, which had been charging forward, froze, and Rotting Levithan (A Toadman) took that oppurtunity. It pounced on its opponent, its blades coming down, ready to impale. To both of the Moulders' surprise, the blades slid off. Howling, Gorhakal's beast attacked back, but Rotting Leviathan dodged all of the beast's blows and again lunged forward, intent on impaling his foe. He failed again. His opponent roared and struck back, and hellreaver shrieked as a blade slashed across his chest. The rotting beast resonded by bowling Garhakal's marshy, oddly-shaped beast to the ground. It tried to fight back, but failed. Snarling, Rotting Leviathan lifted up his two bladed hands (leaving the others to hold down the beast), and brought them down onto Garhakal's beasts' heart. Blodd shot up in a fountain of death, and the life left Garhakal's beast.

Kill-Kill vs. Farzath
A shot heralded the start of the match, and Daggerfall, Kill-Kill's worm, dove beneath the earth. Farzath's marsh serpent slithered around, trying to locate his opponent in vain. Several minutes passed before a rumbling shook the earth, and Daggerfall emerged from the ground, attempting to snatch up his marsh serpent opponent. The serpent managed to roll to the side, but Daggerfalls flailing stranglevine limbs snatched Farzath's beast and dragged it down its maw.

OOC: Win for Killy.

Doctor Woombenstein vs. Jarrek
The match began in earnest. Jarrek's Sludge-like beast somehow managed to move faster than Woombenstein's Giant Beetle, Ekoxen, and managed to unleash his attacks first. The beast brought all four limbs down on Ekoxen, and the carapace shattered, and Ekoxen collapsed in a heap.

OOC: Och. Bad luck, me laddie. Kinda'. :P I didn't have much faith is Ekoxen... bit I expected him to live longer than THAT.

Scrokk the Deranged vs. Gazar
The match began after a pistol was shot. Gazar's writhing mass of worms began rolling forward, but Scrokk's beast rushed forward quickly, its strangelvines lashing out at the worms. The jaws of the writhing things snapped at the tendrils, but they all missed. Goliath the Giant Beetle leapt into the air, landing on the mass. Its jaws snapped shut on the center of the ball, and it lay still.

OOC: Not an effective design by Gazar. :P Too obvious how to kill it.

Vilepaw vs. Lasheek
A pistol shot started the match, and almost immediately, Vilepaw's beast Slither dove under the ground. Lasheek, an Arab-looking rat, poked and prodded his beast away from the earth that shivered below the arena. Vilepaw watched smugly as Lasheek suddenly screamed and run for the arena's side. Slither's head swallowed Lasheek's Sludgebeast whole in a grim parody of what Daggerfall had done before.

OOC: Not unexpected...

Mirak vs. Halik
*bang*

The match started.

Mirak's rotting Leviathan charged forward and Halik's Beetle. The beetle responded in kind. At the last second, Mirak's beast took to the air, leaping onto the beetle's back. the beetle clicked its anger, but none of its arms could reach the toadman on top of it. () On that note, rotting Leviathan took its time and plunged its blades down into the beetles back until it collapsed onto the ground.

Scrokk vs. Balik
The shot from a well-oiled Warpstone duelling pistol heralded the dramtic start of the pitfight. Balik's beast was a fierce-looking Beetle. Scrokk was using a similar beast.

The two charged eachother, their Moulders falling in close behind. Goliath smashed into Behemoth (Balik's beast), and the mayhem began. After a furious five minutes of angry clacks, the beetles pulled apart at their master's commands. Balik gave Scrokk a wary nod; the Deranged only grinned crazily back. The match began anew as Scrokk urged his beast forward. The two beetles fought yet again, but blood was drawn this time. Goliath roared in fury and attacked harder. Shocked by the beetle's sudden ferocity, Behemoth found himself unable to deflect Goliath's blows. Balik's beast soon became entangled in stranglevines, and Goliath leapt in for the kill.

OOC: Win for Random... but Goliath was wounded...

Kill-Kill vs. Vermant
As soon as the match began, Daggerfall dove under the earth. Vermant's Venus Flytrap-based Beast looked around warily with its stalked eyes, but the worm was nowehere to be found. The arena was silent for several minutes, then was suddenly interrupted by Daggerfall erupting from the ground, stranglevines groping for the Flytrap. The plant roared and tried to snap at the worm, but the vines had soon closed its mouth and dragged it into its gaping maw...

OOC: Wow these matches are fast.

Verminax vs. Trizzin
Verminax wins in a briliant show of skill.

Fargu vs. 'Da Swampsta'
Da Swampsta's Sludgebeast defeated Fargu's Toadman after an intense battle!

Vilepaw vs. Yarsh
Slither tried to dive under the ground as soon as the match started. To everyrat's great amusement, the worm's head bounced of the earth. Meanwhile, Yarsh's Beetlebeast kept charging forward. Frantically, Slither tried to dive underground again, but yet again bounced off the earth.

Yarsh's beast slammed into Slither. The worm shrieked and lashed out with its Stranglevines. The beetle plunged onward, slashin the worm's side. Slither shrieked again, angrily, and wrapped it stranglevines around the beetle, pulled it intto its maw, and swallowed.

OOC:  Couldn't... get... through... ground... roffle. ^_^ But V wins again. As usual...

Tyrhenal vs. Philk
Philk pulls off yet another stunning victory.

Korrik vs. Nirrit
After a close match in which both beasts are brought to the edge of death, Nirrit manages to pull off a victory.

Mirak vs Philk
Scrokk vs Nirrit
Verminax vs Kill-Kill

Scrokk vs Nirrit
After the slave was sacrificed, the match began. Goliath found himself facing a vicious, armoured marsh serpent. Goliath charged forward, easily outpacing the heavily wounded and hastily patched up serpent. The beetle reached his opponent and attempted to bit its neck, but the snake slither out of reach, and out of the range of its stranglevines. The serpent then reared up, exposing heavily modified fangs, and lunged forward. Its head bounded off of Goliath's carapace, and the beetle snapped the thing in half.

OOC: It could have gone the other way if the snake hadn't been injured in the last battle... :P

'Da Swampsta' vs Vilepaw
A typical battle for the worm named Slither: it dove under the ground, then resurfaced, swallowing his opponent whole.

Mirak vs Philk
The match began. Rotting Leviathan skrieked horribly, but Flayflash ignored it. It caught the eyes of Mirak's beast, Rotting Leviathan suddenly relaxed, turned around, and began shufflinf away from his opponent... Flayflash took this moment to take to the air and massive butterfly wings, which were the source of a great many ooh's. Flayflash then swooped down on the stupefied beast, breaking its back instantly.

OOC: Bad luck. Ld test failed in turn 1. :(

Verminax vs Kill-Kill
The match began, and Daggerfall did exactly what he was supposed to do: he dove under the earth. Verminax's beast, a strong, tough Ogre, looked around, confused. Verminax snarled and commanded his beast to move forward, but at that moment Daggerfall erupted from the earth between verminax and his beast. The massive worm opened its maw and wrapped it around Verminax's beast, stranglevines and saw in its mouth shredding the poor Moulder's beast.

OOC: Wow. Daggerfall is owning. You just beat the second-best Moulder in Marienburg. Congrats. :o

Next Round:
Scrokk vs. Vilepaw
Kill-Kill vs. Philk

Morkskittar - November 8, 2006 12:38 AM (GMT)
Scrokk vs. Vilepaw
A brilliant gunshot rang through the air as the match began. Slither dove under the earth immediately, and Goliath scuttled around the arena, looking for his opponent. Suddenly, Slither burst out from the ground directly under the beetle. Beetle and earth fell into the beast's massive maw, and were crushed as the thing's jaws snapped shut.

OOC: Ouch. :o REALLY bad luck on Random's part. 3 one's in a row for the beetle's defenses... and four sixes for the worm's gulping... it seems as if my dice hate you again... :( Goliath is unrecoverable.

Kill-Kill vs. Philk
The match began, and Daggerfall dove under the earth as soon as the heralding shot was fired. Philk's butterfly winged beast, Flayflash, took to the air, and hovered there, waiting for the worm to re-surface.

When it did not, Philk motioned to his beast and it dove towards the ground. Sensing its prey drawing nearer, Daggerfall leapt up from the earth, Stranglevines and tongues reaching out to pull Philk's beast in...

As the tongues drew closer, Flayflash suddenly let out a breath of flame that seemed to be made of every single colour ever seen. The flames engulfed the worm, and it tried to douse the flames by lunging beneath the earth, but to no avail - it was unconscious soon after, and Philk was crowing his victory.

OOC: Ouch. All Killy needed was to have passed ONE MORE Ward Save.... if he had done that, then the worm would have been able to full the flying bugger in and eat him. :P Ah well.

Vilepaw vs. Philk
Three shots were fired to signal the start of this match. It began. Philk and Vilepaw charged eachother, driving their beasts ahead of eachother. Flayflash took to the air, but Slither didn't dive under the ground. An annoyed look crossed Vilepaw's face as the worm disobeyed his commands....

Suddenly Flayflash dove down and made a vicious slash at Slither's head. The worm convulsed then lay still.

OOC: Wow. Final matches are supposed to be longer... :( It seems that Philk is dominating Marienburg this season. :P
